We wish to extend thanks to everybody who have shared their kindness and their sympathies.
Luther James Rabb (Music History) was born in 1942 and grew up in Seattle, Washington. As a teenager... Luther was the saxophone player in Jimi Hendrix's very first band "The Velvetones". Luther played sax in his Army regiment and throughout the Sixties, he played with many Pacific Northwest bands such as The Stags, The Nite Sounds and The Emergency Exit... amongst others. His energy and charm have always equally accented his playing and vocal skills. The long span of Rabb's musical career proves him to be a true cross-over artist and one of musics best kept secrets. Beyond category, the musical blend he brings to the table has been sweet and tasty. Seeing him perform on stage, one remembers how easy it is for Luther to make everybody else around him to feel better. Who could forget that smile?

Luther's childhood friends, include musician Ron Hammon who moved with him to Los Angeles in the summer of 1969. The team of Luther on bass & Ronnie on drums have spent the majority of their careers playing music together. Over the years they've been part of countless line-ups supporting headliners and supplied the backbone to such legendry bands as Ballin'jack,, Santana & War.

In 1986 Luther was in an auto accident that caused an injury requiring neck surgery. He recovered well and was on his feet but did suffer some lasting nerve damage resulting in minor tingling and a some loss of sensation down through his hands losing much of his ability to play bass. Life went on and he went into artist management and production work before, as fate would have it... Luther suffered a stroke and/or seizure that left him without any feeling or motion below his chest. It's hard to believe, but true, Luther had been completely paralyzed.

Everything is hard or impossible to do without help for disabled persons... where much time is taken doing the simplist of simple things, that we (AB) take for granted every day. We all had hoped for technology and prayed for a miracle but after four years of declining health... Luther Rabb passed away in January of 2006. Not one to give up, he had never complained about his condition and always kept his sense of humor. He will be missed...very much.

Luther's marriage to his one and only wife Chika, meant very much to him. As newlyweds, together they were very much "the happy couple". Her journey has also taken a foreign and difficult path. Our hearts go out to Luther's beloved Chika during her efforts in keeping it all together. All of his friends and family acknowledge her for being there, both for him, and for us. Thank you again ... wish you and your loved ones, the best of luck and good health.
