OJ Simpson in alleged satellite dish scam
Dec, 17, 2001 - OJ Simpson is apparently in trouble with the law again, this time for his satellite networking skills. Miami police raided his home after he was supposedly caught on tape (during a telephone wire-tap), or was possibly mentioned and implicated by known members of a ecstasy drugs ring.
The FBI and drug enforcement agents searched Simpson's plush Miami home but were unable to find any of the illegal drugs believed to be on the premises. However, police were interested in Simpson's several satellite dishes which they believe had been cunningly rewired so that he could plug into premium television channels without paying. Police have taken several of the dishes for testing and an FBI spokesman has confirmed that Simpson is one of several involved in an alleged satellite TV software scam. "We are building a case against him and others," he said.
But they had better get it right. Simpson's 1995 trial for the alleged stabbing to death of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman turned out to be a media farce and resulted in an acquittal. He was later found liable for their deaths in a civil case and ordered to pay restitution to their families. Just six weeks ago he was acquitted by grand jury in a road rage case.
